ERO-SED (EROsion-SEDimentation)

ERO-SED (EROsion-SEDimentation): We design erosion and sedimentation areas on a decaying  wave. We analyse and evaluate morphological modifications considering the input of sediments, grain distribution, and the decaying  wave.

Another method we have developed is ERO-SED. This method allows us to draw conclusions of an expected morphological development (sediment – morphology) and the modification of the sediment regime due to structural changes. The working method is based on 2D-hydraulics calculations and different hydraulics software programmes.

The picture shows the results of the extension module (2D-hydraulics) ERO-SED used on a tributary river situation (i.e., the rivers ILL and Meng in the province of Vorarlberg.). Here, we show and evaluate erosion and sedimentation areas through different construction or design models.

The sectors around 0 [-] (white) mark the beginning of conveyance. Sedimentation areas are pictured in green, erosion areas are pictured by a colour gradient from yellow to red.
